Our Cause

All proceeds of the Rattlesnake Gravel Grind go directly to the volunteer fire departments of Nolan County. There are 5 volunteer fire departments that cover over 940 square miles. The population of Nolan County is approximately 14,000 and the majority of the land is farm and rugged ranch terrain. These volunteer fire departments not only protect the farms, ranches and residents of Nolan County but also the wind farms, gypsum plants and concrete plant. The volunteer fire departments are the first responders that keep the county people safe, many times stopping to help stranded vehicles and returning livestock to its land when they get out of fences.
