The Rattlesnake Gravel Grind is more than an annual competition of strength and endurance; it is a community event that benefits all residents of Nolan County by supporting the 5 Volunteer Fire Departments. Local civic organizations and businesses were brought together to provide support for this event creating a true “grassroots” feel such as rest stops, aid stations, and SAG support for the cyclists.
Since inception, the Rattlesnake Gravel Grind has attracted riders from CA, NC, VT, AR, NM, OK, IA, CO, GA, AR, KS, PA, TN, NV, IN, Texas, Mexico, Canada, and the United Kingdom. This event has brought in many first timers, average Joe’s, weekend warriors, domestic and international pro cyclists; all ready to battle and prevail against the unpredictable
West Texas elements and terrain.
Riders, sponsors, and volunteers all come together to celebrate after the ride with Texas Red Dirt Music and great food!
